We’ve seen God do some amazing things as many women have given up their rings. But what many don’t realize is that rings are only a part of our ministry. The truth is that our flagship program, The With This Ring Project is focused on helping new couples learn to have radical marriages by pairing up experienced couples, called Ring Mentors, with new couples, called Ring Couples. The couples begin a mentoring relationship where they encourage one another to live a radically generous life.
The Ring Mentors give their rings to the Ring Couple as a symbol of their commitment to live a radical life. The Ring Couples commit to have a radical wedding and marriage. It is during the wedding and showers that they develop their Radical Giving Ring of people who will support them in their effort to live a radically generous life.
Radical Giving Rings are groups (or rings) of people who gather around a couple to support them in their effort to have a radical marriage. They challenge each other to give radically for the sake of Christ. To that end, participants are asked to pray about what it is that God might have them give up – a planned purchase, a meal, a trip, a month’s worth of lattés – and instead give that money through With This Ring to help promote radical giving and dig wells in Africa.
We teach that radical giving means sacrificing something valuable for the sake of Christ and his mission in this world (2 Samuel 24:24).
Anyone can be a radical giver and, in fact, God demands it of each of us as Christians!
Question: So what can you do to embrace the radical giving cause today?
Answer: Join a Radical Giving Ring.
Starting is easy:
- Step 1: Pray about what God might want you to give up.
- Step 2: Join a Radical Giving Ring and support a couple who is learning to have a generous lifestyle.
- Step 3: Stay in contact with the Ring Couple and share with them how you want to be radical in your giving.
- Step 4: Do it! Follow through on your decision and write out the check.
